Metabase 0.31 released
I’m like a child at Christmas when it comes to software updates. I can’t wait to try out all the new bits and push the new buttons. This enthusiasm has been dampened lately with Microsoft’s well documented problems and the glacial progress of SAP’s BI products. So it’s great to have a new release of Metabase to play with now the nights are drawing in.
The last major update (0.30) in August focussed on the management side of things with more flexible security and better ways to work across multiple tables. For me, that meant that Metabase was ready for larger installations, but for things to poke and prod, it was a bit dull.
This time with 0.31, the focus has been on the more exciting, pretty stuff. New chart types, improved conditional formatting and the very clever ‘Smart numbers’ allowing you to easily do period to period comparisons (something other BI vendors could do with copying).
Full release notes including lots of animated graphics over at Metabase.
Needless to say, our servers running Windows Server 2016 & Ubuntu Linux upgraded smoothly. I’ll be updating the product pages with some of the new pretty bits soon.
As ever, if you’d like to discover more, or have a play on our demo server, please get in touch.
